This is a beautiful kick up rudder assembly for a Montgomery 17.  The rudder is laminated cypress and the tiller is laminated with ash and either mahogany or black walnut.  Tiller also available in other combinations of woods.  The hold down line is secured with a “Clam Cleat” CL  257 auto release cleat so that it will release and let the rudder kick up out of the way if you hit something.  Pintles are not included so that you can install the size you need at the locations that fit you boat.

Here is a nice replacement blade for your Montgomery 15 Kick up rudder assembly.  This one is made from glued up cypress to create a very strong and stable blade.  This one won’t warp like so many solid blades do over time.  Cypress is an American boat building wood that has been used for years.   This is finished with a minimum of 3 coats of spar varnish.

Here’s a rudder to replace your lost or damaged rudder for you Dolphin Sr. Sailboat.  It is available in either a natural finish or high strength marine polyurethane.  Just let me know which you prefer.  Either board is made from locking glue jointed cypress and then covered in fiberglass for extra strength.  The fiberglass is not noticable in either board.  You’ll like this one.
